World Religions
World Religions Group Project
The goal of this project was to make comparisons and contrasts between the five major world religions. This project was assigned at the culmination of the classes' studies on world religions. Students examined these religions further by working with a group to create a Power Point on a religion. Each student was given one topic about their group's religion and was required to create one slide including a title, important information, and a picture.

The Silk Road Interactive Whiteboard Activity
The goal of this activity was to make the Silk Road interactive and to put it in better perspective for the students. Using a Mimio Board, students took turns coming to the board and placing locations, goods, and geographical features on a map of Asia and Europe. After a student took his or her turn, I asked questions of the students and we discussed the importance of the location, good, or geographical feature that was just placed on the map.

Ancient Greece
Government in Athens Partner Activity
The goal of this activity was for students to understand the different forms of government that were appearing in Athens, and in particular, democracy. Students first investigated the three forms of government; tyranny, oligarchy, and democracy. They then decided what form they felt was best. Finally, they discussed their choice and reasoning with a partner. In the end, students had a better understanding of these three forms of governments, including their benefits and drawbacks.

Alexander the Great Timeline Activity
The goal of this timeline activity was to put the life and rule of Alexander the Great in perspective. Students created a timeline that included the major events in the life of Alexander the Great, as well as the events that led to his rule and the events after his death. Students gained a better understanding of the life and achievements of Alexander the Great and how his empire greatly impacted the world.
